I don’t think people realize how easy it is to make your own granola. This Spiced Pear Granola can be adjusted to whatever taste you may have and it’s a good recipe to play around with for a huge combination of flavors.
I mean have you seen the prices of “fancy” granola? It can go up to $20 a pound! For me, the granola always have something I don’t want or something I do and end up adding on my own anyway. When you make it at home, you can pick your fruit, your nuts, your spice, your level and type of sweetness.
The basis of all granola is this: Oats, Sweetener, Flavoring, Some type of Fat, and extras which are your nuts, seeds and fruit.
Once you start making your own granola (like making your own hummus), you will never look back, and you will even start giving it as gifts!
In this recipe my fat is a combination of coconut oil and almond butter.
Use on top of your yogurt, as a snack, or as a base for homemade Granola Bars.
